Sažetak

Generiranje holograma putem računala predstavlja značajan korak u evoluciji holografije jer je moguće zaobići nedostatke klasične holografije te postići rezultate koje klasična holografija nije u stanju ostvariti. Veliki nedostatak računalno generirane holografije je iznimno velika zahtjevnost u pogledu računalnih resursa te predstavlja jedan od glavnih razloga njene ograničene upotrebe. Istraživanja ubrzanja generiranja holograma su brojna, ali za sada ne postoji istinski brzi način generianja pravih holograma koji sadržavaju kompletnu valnu frontu snimanog objekta. Ovaj rad prikazuje metodu iznimno brzog izračuna holograma visoke rezolucije, čak i kada su u pitanju geometrijski iznimno kompleksni objekti. Predstavljene su brojne optimizacije klasičnog ray-tracing pristupa te je prikazan izračun holograma kompleksnog objekta od 550 tisuća poligona. Istraživanje pokazuje kako se na modernim računalima putem inovativnih optimizacija mogu generirati hologrami visoke kvalitete u kratkom vremenu, te je postavljena osnova za daljni razvoj računalno generirane holografije na grafičkom procesoru.

Abstract

Generation of holograms using a computer is a significant step in the evolution of holography since it is possible to bypass disadvantages of classical holography, and achieve results that classical holography is not able to accomplish. A major drawback of computer-generated holography is extremely high demands in terms of computing resources and represents one of the main reasons for its limited use. There are numerous studies of acceleration of generated holograms, but for now there is no real quick way for generating real hologram containing the complete recorded object wave front. This paper presents a method of extremely fast calculation of high resolution holograms even when objects are extremely geometrically complex. Numerous optimization of classical ray-tracing approach are presented and the calculation of the hologram of a complex object 550 000 polygons is shown. Research shows that the innovative optimizations can generate holograms of high quality in a short time and is the base for further development of computer-generated holography to the GPU.
