Designing double information on the textile cover material for books with stiff binding

Mario Barišić, Igor Čaljkušić

A double image has been set in real life silk-screen production for a textile cover of a book with stiff binding, all in accordance with Infraredesign rules. An experiment was made by incorporating dual and hidden information into the books printed in such a manner by applying the theory of IR design. Control was set in the visible and infrared area with a color setting adjusted for conventional silk-screen printing. The spot on the textile of the sample printed in this manner was named "print with an infrared effect", and it is characteristic for the delimited state of information in the VS (visible spectrum) and NIR (near infrared) spectrum part. A possibility was created for printing double hidden information on the textile substrate itself, without raising production costs, or changing production industrial flows in any manner whatsoever. The obtained experiment result forms a basis for the creative possibility to implement encoded information into the textile cover material, and it can be successfully used in the industry of stiff binding and in the industry of goods and accessories. Routines set in this manner provide a completely new dimension for the textile and graphic industries, and allow the creative segment of the publishing industry to have more modern principles in designing published products - firstly in the area of using double information as an addition of the publisher's extra message - carried out with the same conventional printing technology.

Key words: infraredesign, double information on a textile cover, visible spectrum, near infrared

Patrik Ervells latest collection is ironically titled “Software”ADIDAS ORIGINALS TUBULAR SHADOW. In the notes from the presentation, Ervell says he was interested in developing tension between nostalgia and sci-fi,NIKE ZOOM WINFLO 3 and even included 90s cyberpunk amongst his influences. Ervell developed this point of view by creating an imaginary software company called Idegen software systems. He then re-appropriated the company’AIR JORDAN XXXI MENs logo in several of the collection’s garments. Elsewhere,MBT TARIKI MEN mohair coats with oversized lapels made an appearance alongside mock neck tees,NIKE AIR JORDAN RETRO 5 police-inspired ribbed sweaters,MBT FORA GTX WOMEN flight bombers, and polyurethane leather coats.
