Čvrstoća konstrukcije kutije od valovitog kartona u ovisnosti o drastičnim promjenama temperature i relativne vlažnosti zraka

Sažetak

U radu se određuju parametri koji utječu na mehanosorpcijska svojstva valovitog kartona uslijed drastičnih promjena temperature i i relativne vlažnosti zraka. Prethodne studije i praktična iskustva sa skladištenjem u hladnjačama pokazuju da vlaga ima dominantni utjecaj na čvrstoću konstrukcije ambalaže od valovitog kartona. U uvjetima velike vlažnosti i niske temperature, kod hladnjača u kojima se čuva voće i povrće, valoviti karton adsorbira vlagu i gubi na tlačnoj čvrstoći. Istraživani faktori ograničeni su na temperaturu i vlažnost hladnjače. Ostali faktori, kao npr. kako su kutije s proizvodima prevezene i naslagane, također utječu na čvrstoću konstrukcije, ali su ti utjecaji van dosega ovog istraživanja. U hladnjačama, radi očuvanja kvalitete i kvantitete voća i povrća, vladaju definirani uvjeti temperature i vlažnosti dok u vanjskoj okolini oni variraju. Izloženost tim promjenama ima nepovoljan utjecaj na mehanička svojstva valovitog kartona a posljedica je značajno smanjenje vijeka trajanja kutije.

Dependance of Strength of Consruction of Corrugated Cardboard Box on Drastic Changes of Temperature and Relative Air Humidity

Sažetak

The paper defines the parameters that affect the mechanical and sorption properties of corrugated cardboard due to drastic changes of temperature and relative humidity of air. The previous studies and practical experience with storing in refrigerators show that humidity has a dominant influence on the strength of the structure of corrugated cardboard packaging. In the conditions of high humidity and low temperatures in the refrigerators keeping fruit and vegetables, the corrugated cardboard adsorbs moisture and loses its compressive strength. The investigated factors comprised only the temperature and the humidity of the refrigerator. The other factors, such as the the way how boxes are bound and transported and their impact on the strength of the structure, have not been the subject of this paper. In order to preserve the quality and quantity of fruit and vegetables, the temperature and humidity in refrigerators are pre-defined, whereas they vary in the external environment The exposure to such changes has an adverse effect on the mechanical properties of corrugated cardboard, which results in the significant reduction of the life of the box.
